Get a Harvest Moon Mushroom Bag
The Harvest Moon mushroom bags are a consistent supply of fresh specialty mushrooms grown fresh from our farm in Portland, OR. Members choose a share size, pick a pickup location, and collect mushrooms year-round. Because the grow rooms run all year, the share rotates by variety rather than by season.

What kind of mushrooms will I get?
Four kinds grow here year-round, so those are always in the shop and always in rotation in the bags. The wild ones turn up when the season turns, available to members first.
Grown here, year-round
Wild foraged, when the season gives them up
Wild varieties are one-time offerings and the price moves with the market, so the list changes through the year. When something is in, it goes up in the shop — or ask at the market and I’ll tell you what came in that week.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a mushroom bag?
A mushroom bag share works like a CSA: you subscribe to a weekly portion of what the farm harvests, and collect it at a set pickup point. Because mushrooms fruit in grow rooms rather than fields, the season runs year-round and rotates by variety rather than by season. Everything is cut within a day or two of pickup, which is the main reason it keeps far better than anything shipped through a distributor.
How much does each Harvest Moon bag cost?
Bags start at $16/week. The more you purchase, the more you save per order. You can up your bag size anytime, or skip a week by the weekly order cutoff (Mondays at 10pm).
Which mushrooms will I get?
The plan is customizable, meaning you can pick your variety from what's available each week. Oyster — blue, pink and golden — is the most reliable week to week. Lion's mane and chestnut come in most weeks in smaller quantities, and shiitake and king trumpet rotate in as blocks come into fruit.
Do you run year-round?
Yes. Mushrooms fruit in controlled grow rooms rather than in a field, so there is no season to wait for and no winter gap.
What happens if I go on vacation or need to skip a week?
No problem–we'll send you a reminder when the ordering window opens. Place a vacation hold or "skip" anytime up until the order cutoff (Mondays at 10pm).
Can I choose which varieties I get?
Yes! Customize from the week's selection, or do nothing to opt into the weekly farmer's choice. Four varieties grow here year-round, so they're always available: blue oyster, lion's mane, maitake and shiitake. The rest are wild foraged, so they come and go with the season: black trumpet, chanterelle, chicken of the woods, cauliflower, hedgehog, lobster, matsutake, morel, porcini and yellowfoot. Members get first dibs as available!
How are these different from supermarket mushrooms?
Supermarket mushrooms are almost always white button, cremini or portobello — all the same species, bred to ship and store. A mushroom bag brings varieties that never travel well: oyster, lion's mane, shiitake, king trumpet. They are cut to order rather than picked days ahead and held in cold storage, so the texture and flavour are noticeably different, and you get kinds most shops never carry.
